Bombay High Court rules regularization applies only to irregular structures in Goa case
The Bombay High Court in Goa dismissed Abdul Linganmata's plea to regularize his structure in Assolda. The court ruled that regularization can only apply to irregular structures, not illegal ones, and found Linganmata's structure to be illegal. Linganmata's structure was deemed illegal because it was built in an orchard zone without necessary land conversion or permissions. The court noted that it was constructed after the cutoff date of February 28, 2014, and lacked proper approvals. Linganmata claimed the property had an ancestral house for 80 years and sought regularization for utilities. However, the panchayat and subsequent appeals confirmed the structure was unauthorized and ordered its demolition.
