Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has launched its first air-conditioned electric buses, currently in trial runs. Five buses, supplied by OHM Global Mobility, are operating between Kempegowda Bus Station and Kadugodi. BMTC plans to replace older Volvo buses with these electric models. A total of 320 buses will be delivered by March 2025, with each bus covering 250 kilometers daily. Passengers have reported positive experiences, noting the comfort and quietness of the new buses. Some commuters hope for lower fares due to the electric nature of the service.
