Bluesky sees surge in new users as disillusioned social media users migrate from X
Bluesky has seen a surge in new users, with up to a million sign-ups in a single day. The platform, which began in 2019, is attracting those leaving established networks like X (formerly Twitter). New users must like 10 posts and follow seven accounts during onboarding. Bluesky offers features similar to X, such as liking, reposting, and hiding posts, which help tailor the user experience. Users can create posts with up to 300 characters, add images or videos, and manage who can reply. Additional features include feeds for exploring content, lists for organizing accounts, and Starter Packs for sharing curated lists of users.
