Blue Planet III reveals 'surprising and intelligent' deep-sea creatures

bbc.com —

Sir David Attenborough will narrate Blue Planet III, a new six-part BBC series exploring the ocean's darkest depths, promising to reveal marine life that is "more surprising, more intelligent, and even more precious than we ever realised." The series airs this autumn, marking 25 years since the first installment premiered. Produced by the BBC Natural History Unit after nearly four years of filming, the series uses advanced equipment like remote cameras, drones, and manned submersibles to capture newly discovered animal behaviours. Attenborough, who turned 100 this year, said he was "proud and delighted" to be involved with the project. The series features an original score by Hans Zimmer, who called it his "most important work," and a song co-written by Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall. The launch event took place in London on Tuesday, with footage displayed on digital screens at Piccadilly Circus.
