Blue Note opens first UK venue in London with Robert Glasper

The legendary Blue Note jazz club will open its first UK venue in London’s Covent Garden on September 23, headlined by pianist Robert Glasper. The venue, in St Martins Lane hotel’s basement, has two performance spaces and two nightly shows. Artists include Jamie Cullum, Erykah Badu, Kokoroko and Nubya Garcia; tickets go on sale August 14. It will stay open until 1am Monday to Saturday. The original Blue Note opened in New York’s Greenwich Village in 1981, hosting Dizzy Gillespie and Ray Charles. It has since expanded globally; London is its first UK branch.
