Blinken and allies express concerns over Indo-Pacific security

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and foreign ministers from Australia, India, and Japan expressed serious concerns about security in the South and East China seas during a Quad meeting in Tokyo on July 29. They condemned recent Chinese maritime activities and discussed initiatives to enhance maritime safety, including expanding the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Maritime Domain Awareness. Tensions have recently eased between China and the Philippines over supply routes.
