Bicol suspends classes on November 15 as Tropical Storm Man-Yi approaches

Classes in the Bicol region will be suspended on Friday, November 15, due to Tropical Storm Man-Yi, which is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility soon. This decision was announced by Governor Vincenzo Renato Luigi Villafuerte. Local schools and governments aim to allow families to prepare for the storm and conduct evacuations from high-risk areas. The Department of Education will also prepare school facilities for potential use as evacuation centers. Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges suspended in-person classes on Thursday, November 14, and advised faculty and students to shift to online learning. Naga City and Catanduanes Colleges also announced class suspensions to ensure safety and allow students to travel home.
