Bhagyashree, 57, advises against intermittent fasting for menopausal women
Actor Bhagyashree, 57, has stated that intermittent fasting is not ideal for menopausal women, advising instead a focus on wholesome meals rich in fibre and protein. She shared her personal perimenopause journey, emphasising the importance of prioritising health during this phase. In a recent interview, Bhagyashree explained that women's hormones require consistent food intake, and fasting should only be attempted short-term under medical supervision. She recommended a diet including fermented foods, soluble and insoluble fibre, and soaked lentils, while cautioning that dal-chawal alone is insufficient and vegetables are crucial. The actor also highlighted that women often neglect their own health due to cultural habits of prioritising others, and she challenged this by consulting doctors and focusing on nutrition. She noted that social engagements centred on food make strict calorie counting impractical, advocating for mindful eating instead.
