Berlin's Left Party sues Brandenburg minister over Instagram video

Berlin's Left Party has filed for an emergency injunction against Brandenburg's Interior Ministry over an Instagram video linking the party to organized crime and antisemitism. The application was submitted to the Potsdam Administrative Court. The ministry refused to issue a cease-and-desist declaration, and Interior Minister Jan Redmann reaffirmed his position Monday evening. The Left Party has filed similar lawsuits against CDU-led interior ministries in four other states. Two of those states withdrew their statements, while Brandenburg, Baden-Württemberg, and Hesse did not. The party is also taking a separate case against Economy Minister Katherina Reiche to the Federal Constitutional Court.
