Berlin Poll: Left Party narrowly ahead of CDU in tight race

Ten days before Berlin's state election, a new ARD poll shows the Left party narrowly leading the CDU, with the Left at 21 percent and the CDU at 20 percent. The BSW party would fail to enter parliament at 4 percent. The poll, conducted by infratest dimap among 1,528 voters, also shows the AfD at 18 percent, Greens at 16 percent, and SPD at 12 percent. Incumbent mayor Kai Wegner withdrew his re-election bid amid controversies, ensuring a new mayor. The survey indicates a tight race, with 42 percent each favoring a CDU- or Left-led senate in a direct comparison. No leading candidate commands majority support, and one in six voters remains undecided.
