Berhampur gets Prathamesh Rajeshirke as new commissioner

Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke, a 2021-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new commissioner of Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC). The appointment fills the vacancy left by the transfer of B P Mishra and follows resident appeals for an IAS officer to lead the corporation. Rajeshirke previously served as sub-collector of Balasore. The BeMC, comprising 42 wards, is currently led by the opposition BJD party, with Sanghamitra Dalei as mayor.
