BepiColombo completes first phase of Mercury arrival

The Euro-Japanese space probe BepiColombo successfully completed the first phase of its arrival at Mercury on Thursday around 14:00, with mission success confirmed shortly before 16:00. The probe is now en route to the first planet of our solar system. To execute this phase, the scientific probes had to detach from the propulsion module. This separation was a critical step in the arrival process, allowing the spacecraft to continue its journey toward Mercury. The mission marks a significant milestone in the exploration of Mercury, the smallest and innermost planet in our solar system. BepiColombo is a joint endeavor between European and Japanese space agencies.
