Benítez joins Goiás after leaving América-MG

Argentine midfielder Martín Benítez, formerly of Vasco, has agreed to join Goiás in Brazil's Serie B, leaving América-MG. He will terminate his contract with América-MG. The 30-year-old Benítez, who has a high salary, was a request of Goiás' coach, Vagner Mancini, with whom he previously worked. He has played in only nine games this year for América-MG, where his salary was delayed. Benítez, who played for Grêmio and São Paulo, arrived in Brazil in 2020 with Vasco, where he played 33 games.
