Bengaluru seeks defense land in Hebbal for tunnel

Bengaluru's civic body, BBMP, is requesting the transfer of defense land in Hebbal to construct a tunnel road, aiming to ease traffic congestion. The BBMP has formally requested two acres of land from defense authorities, with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar discussing the matter with the Defense Minister. The tunnel road will connect to NH-44, providing access to the airport. The project requires land for service roads and ramps, with the tunnel's exit planned near the Esteem Mall. The BBMP is also seeking clearance from the National Highways Authority of India for the project.
