Bengaluru plans to acquire 157 properties for stormwater drain project
Bengaluru's BBMP has announced plans to acquire 157 properties for a stormwater drain project. This initiative aims to enhance flood resilience along a 7.5-km stretch from Hebbal to Hennur, including a service road for improved urban mobility. The project will involve the acquisition of 191 acres within a 50-metre buffer zone. It will feature a two-lane road, public amenities, and recreational spaces, addressing chronic flooding in key areas like Hebbal and Nagawara. Property owners have 30 days to submit claims and consent to the development rights process. BBMP has allocated Rs 100 crore in the 2024-25 budget to support this project.
