Bengaluru facility tackles used textile waste through recycling and upcycling efforts

Bengaluru's Textile Recovery Facility is now processing used clothes from various wards. The facility upcycles, recycles, and downcycles textiles, ensuring none are sent to landfills. This initiative is part of a broader effort to create a sustainable value chain for textile waste. It also aims to provide new job opportunities for waste pickers. The project involves collaboration between the Circular Apparel Innovation Factory, Hasiru Dala, and Saamuhika Shakti. They are working to improve systems for managing post-consumer textile waste.
