Bengaluru college declares holiday for Mohanlal's movie release
Good Shepherd College in Bengaluru will close on March 27 to celebrate the release of the Malayalam movie L2: Empuraan, starring actor Mohanlal. The college has organized a special screening at 7 AM for students, showing the chairman's admiration for the actor. The announcement from the college was enthusiastic, stating, “Lights, Camera, Holiday!” This decision honors Mohanlal and the film's director, Prithviraj Sukumaran. The college is giving all students free tickets to this exclusive screening. In southern India, it is common for businesses and schools to give holidays for major film releases. In 2023, many companies offered time off when the film Jailer, featuring Rajinikanth, was released. Similarly, during the release of Kabali in 2016, many educational institutions in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu closed for the film debut. L2: Empuraan is a sequel to the 2019 hit film Lucifer. The original film was a major success at the box office. Along with Mohanlal and Prithviraj, popular actors like Manju Warrier and Tovino Thomas return for this sequel. L2: Empuraan has already sold Rs 12.85 crore in advance tickets. The movie's trailer features Mohanlal as Stephen Nedumpally and promises an exciting viewing experience. The film aims to continue the story from Lucifer and is part of a trilogy, with details about the final chapter still unknown. The excitement for this new installment is building as audiences look forward to its release.
