Belgian table tennis federation hit by cyberattack, member data compromised

The Royal Belgian Table Tennis Federation and its French-speaking wing were hit by a cyberattack last week, potentially compromising member, user, and club data, confirmed Saturday by AFTT President Jean-Michel Mureau. The attack was revealed by the site FrenchBreaches, which reported leaked samples including names, affiliation numbers, and sports sanction details. The attacker claims to have obtained 1.69 GB of data, affecting 66,852 members and 17,441 users. Mureau stated the federation was alerted Thursday and has tasked its IT operator with determining the exact scope of the breach. This follows a similar cyberattack on the Francophone Gymnastics Federation on September 14, affecting around 200,000 people.
