BBC Sport offers redundancies to focus on digital content

BBC Sport is planning significant changes, offering most staff "accelerated voluntary redundancy" to focus more on digital content. This shift will end the Sportsday program and cut 27 roles while creating 27 new positions. The restructuring will reduce the number of sports bulletins, with only two daily broadcasts remaining. The changes were announced at a meeting led by BBC's director of sport, Alex Kay-Jelski. Additionally, the flagship football show, Match of the Day, will see Gary Lineker step down, with three new presenters taking over hosting duties.
