Barry McGuigan reveals kidnapping plot and daughter's cancer battle on I'm A Celebrity

Barry McGuigan, a former boxing champion, is currently participating in ITV's reality show "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" He has shared his experiences of a kidnapping plot during his boxing career and the tragic loss of his daughter. In the 1980s, as Barry's fame grew, he faced threats to his safety, prompting increased security measures. He revealed that he was informed of a kidnapping plot and was even trained to use a gun for protection during The Troubles in Ireland. Barry's daughter, Danika, battled cancer twice, first diagnosed at age 11. After a brief recovery, she was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in June 2019 and passed away five weeks later. Barry has expressed that he will "never recover" from her loss.
