Baroda Dairy re-elects Dinesh Patel as chairman, G B Solanki as vice-chairman
Baroda Dairy re-elected BJP leader Dinesh Patel as chairman and G B Solanki as vice-chairman on Tuesday, ending nearly five months of uncertainty following the board polls in March. The election was held after a consensus-building exercise among BJP-backed directors, with the outcome widely seen as a formality given the panel's comfortable majority. Patel will continue leading the cooperative with an annual turnover of around Rs 1,400 crore. The leadership election comes a day after notices were issued to 10 village milk cooperatives, including societies headed by Patel and Solanki, under Section 81 of the Gujarat Cooperative Societies Act over alleged irregularities. Patel, a former Padra MLA, had rejoined BJP in 2023 after a rebellious stint.
