Bareggio approves demolition plan to regenerate former Alma industrial site
The municipal government of Bareggio, Italy, has approved a plan to regenerate the former Alma industrial site, clearing the way for demolition of the abandoned structures. The project aims to end decades of decay in the area. The plan includes new residential buildings alongside public works such as a green area, public parking, sidewalks, and a cycling and pedestrian path connected to the existing network. Mayor Linda Colombo noted that asbestos removal has already been completed. The intervention is part of a broader effort to redevelop disused areas, following the former Sapla site and continuing with the former Cartiera. Additionally, groundwork has begun for a "health park" in Via Vigevano, designed as an inclusive space for all residents.
