Bansuri Utsav to honor late tabla maestro Zakir Hussain in Mumbai

Tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain passed away last week at 73 due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was buried in San Francisco. The 16th Bansuri Utsav will honor him on January 4 and 5 in Thane, Mumbai. The event is organized by flautist Vivek Sonar's Gurukul Pratishthan. The festival will feature performances by notable artists, including Ravi Chary, Sharvari Gamenis, and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Music composer Ilaiyaraja will receive the Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia Award during the event.
