Bahia will receive R$250.8 million in federal funds for elective surgeries, expanding access to over 1,280 procedures under the Agora Tem Especialistas plan. Approved by the Intergestores Bipartite Commission and published Wednesday, the resources allocate R$200.67 million to surgery and R$50.16 million to outpatient care. Most surgical funds stay under state management, with municipal portions as well. Municipalities must perform at least ten procedures from a minimum list before starting others. Some procedures receive above-standard SUS rates, with differences funded by executing managers.
