Baguio schools integrate circular economy lessons with new handbook

Baguio City launched a handbook to teach circular economy principles in schools, integrating lessons on recycling and waste reduction into the curriculum. The 800-page resource book, developed by Saint Louis University teachers with support from the UNDP, aims to educate students on reusing and recycling practices, drawing inspiration from indigenous Ibaloy communities. The initiative is part of Baguio's Pansa-nopen Tayo waste management project, promoting a shift from a linear to a circular economy to address increasing waste generation.
