Bagalkot engineers face action after school ceiling collapse injures 8

Eight students were injured when a classroom ceiling collapsed at a government school in Mugulolli Tanda, Bagalkot district, prompting disciplinary action against two engineers who submitted inspection reports without physically visiting the site. Zilla Panchayat CEO Gajanan Bale ordered action against Assistant Executive Engineer S M Revadi and Junior Engineer S M Sanganal, who had falsely reported the school rooms as in good condition. Officials found 1,535 rooms across the district require major repairs, with 628 rooms currently unfit for teaching. Authorities have given 15 days to reinspect the 628 unfit rooms with geo-tagged photographs. Officials were also directed to check drinking water quality and conduct safety drives covering school buildings, roofs, and water facilities, with strict action warned against negligence.
