Australian chip company recycles cooking oil into packaging

An Australian chip company is recycling used cooking oil into packaging, reducing emissions. Snackbrands Australia partnered with Viva Energy to convert 120 tonnes of used cooking oil into food-grade plastic for chip packets, cutting production emissions by 70%. The new packaging will appear in stores next year, though current disposal options are limited to landfill, with efforts underway to improve recyclability.
