Audi RS6 offers hybrid V8, electric powertrains in 2026

The next-generation Audi RS6 will offer both a plug-in hybrid V8 and a fully electric powertrain, marking a first for Audi Sport in 2026. This dual-powertrain strategy aims to cater to diverse market demands. The combustion-engined RS6 will retain an updated version of the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, paired with a plug-in hybrid system. The electric RS6 E-tron will utilize the PPE platform. The hybrid version is expected to produce up to 730bhp. This decision follows slower-than-expected EV sales, prompting Audi to extend the life cycles of key internal combustion engine models. The RS6 will also offer both estate and saloon body styles.
