Audi revises vehicle naming strategy to simplify model identification

Audi is changing its vehicle naming strategy, moving away from its previous plan to assign even numbers to electric cars and odd numbers to combustion engines. The new approach will standardize model names globally based on size and positioning. The upcoming A6 combustion engine models will be named A6 TFSI or A6 TDI, instead of the previously planned A7. This change aims to simplify the naming system and improve customer understanding. The new alphanumeric system will use letters and numbers to categorize vehicles, eliminating the odd/even distinction. The first model to adopt this new naming will be the A6 Avant TFSI, debuting on March 4.
