An Auckland apartment sold for $50,000 in October is the cheapest property sale in New Zealand for 2024, according to Corelogic. The two-bedroom unit in Mt Albert came with an $80,000 bill for necessary repairs due to leaks. The most expensive sale was a $20 million property in Remuera, previously owned by Grant Dalton. All top ten sales occurred in Auckland, with the second-highest being Sir John Key's former home at $16.3 million in Parnell. Herne Bay in Auckland had the highest median property value at $3.36 million, while Murupara in Whakatane was the lowest at $191,600. Murupara's value increased by over 81% in five years, contrasting with Auckland Central's 9.1% decline.
