Astronomers find starless cloud supporting dark matter halo theory

Astronomers discovered Cloud-9, a starless gas cloud, providing strong evidence for the existence of "failed galaxies" predicted by cosmological models. This RELHIC, near galaxy M94, is a dark matter halo that captured gas but never formed stars, confirming a key prediction of the Lambda CDM model. The discovery was made using multiple telescopes, including Hubble, which found no stars, supporting the theory that not all dark matter halos host galaxies.
