Astronauts Anil Menon and Jessica Meir complete spacewalk to prep ISS for solar arrays

NASA astronauts Anil Menon and Jessica Meir completed a six-hour spacewalk Friday, installing mounting hardware for future solar arrays to boost the International Space Station’s power capacity. Menon’s first spacewalk and Meir’s sixth, the 281st ISS spacewalk, targeted the Starboard 6 truss’s 3B power channel. They routed cables, installed insulation, and prepared for two additional roll-out solar arrays. Two more Expedition 75 spacewalks are planned August 13 and 25 to replace an antenna and connect power and data systems, supporting station operations and eventual controlled deorbit.
