Asda wins UK supermarket price comparison

Asda has been named the UK's cheapest major supermarket, surpassing Tesco and Sainsbury's in a recent price comparison. The Grocer's analysis of 33 items found Asda's basket totaled £81.26, significantly cheaper than Morrisons, Sainsbury's, and Tesco, despite their loyalty programs. Morrisons offered the biggest price reductions, while Tesco's prices were higher than last year. Waitrose was the most expensive, and the comparison did not include Aldi or Lidl, which are generally known for lower prices. Sainsbury's offered savings through its Nectar Prices scheme.
