Arlanda sets new record for international travel in August

Sweden's largest airport, Arlanda, set a new record for international travel for the second consecutive month, according to Swedavia's statistics. International passenger numbers rose by over three percent to 2.1 million, surpassing the previous August 2018 record by about 16,000 travelers. Arlanda had over 2.4 million total passengers in August, a two percent increase compared to the same month last year. However, domestic travel at the airport decreased by four percent to just over 324,000 passengers. Across Swedavia's ten airports, over 3.3 million passengers traveled in August, a three percent increase compared to August 2025. Swedavia attributes the growth to more visitors to Sweden and increased demand within the country.
