Apple's iPhone 17 to feature new Wi-Fi 7 chip designed in-house

Apple's upcoming iPhone 17, set for release in fall 2025, will feature a new Wi-Fi 7 chip designed by Apple. This chip will replace the current Broadcom chip used for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The new Wi-Fi 7 chip will be manufactured using TSMC's 7nm process. Apple aims to transition most of its products to its own Wi-Fi technology within three years to reduce costs. Additionally, Apple is developing its own 5G chip, which will be separate from the Wi-Fi chip. The first device to include this 5G modem will be the next iPhone SE, but it will still use a Broadcom Wi-Fi chip.
