Apple Music Classical reveals top streamed albums of 2024 highlighting Chopin's popularity
Apple Music Classical has revealed the top streamed albums of 2024, highlighting a strong preference for works by Frédéric Chopin. The platform, launched last year, aims to cater to classical music fans with a focus on contemporary interpretations. Yunchan Lim's album of Chopin's études is the most popular, followed by Mao Fujita's ‘72 Preludes’. The piano remains central, with four of the top five albums featuring it prominently. Max Richter's ‘Sleep’ and Stephan Moccio's ‘Legends, Myths and Lavender’ also made the list, indicating a trend towards soothing, ambient classical music. This suggests a limited view of classical music as background sound rather than a powerful genre.
