Angola's ANPG confirmed that drilling and testing of the Katambi-2 well in Block 24, Benguela Basin, found good-quality gas reservoirs, boosting the discovery's economic viability. Initial tests yielded 41 million standard cubic feet of gas and 1,160 barrels of condensate daily, with no water or hydrogen sulfide. The well crossed two productive intervals totaling 331 meters, with better permeability than the earlier Katambi-1 well. Announced by national concessionaire ANPG and operator Sonangol, this marks Angola's first complete flow test in a non-associated gas reservoir. Preliminary results suggest potential output exceeding 100 MMscfd. Katambi-1 was drilled in 2014/2015.
