Animation Guild ratifies new contract with major studios despite AI concerns

The deal includes raises of 7%, 4%, and 3.5%, along with provisions for pay equity for color designers and staffing minimums for TV writers. Despite these gains, some members expressed dissatisfaction, particularly regarding protections against artificial intelligence. Key demands, such as opting out of AI use and preventing work from training AI, were not included in the agreement. The contract does establish some AI guidelines, ensuring that AI work is covered and cannot undermine pay or credit. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers acknowledged the ratification and highlighted the benefits for guild members.
