Andhra Pradesh government plans to reorganize village and ward secretariats for better service delivery
The Andhra Pradesh Government plans to reorganize village and ward secretariat employees to enhance service delivery. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu proposed appointing aspirational secretaries to implement new technologies like AI and drones in rural areas. By January 20, 2025, all houses will be geo-tagged. The Chief Minister also stated that Aadhaar cards for all children should be issued by February 15, 2025. The government aims to operate 15,004 secretariats with fewer staff while improving efficiency. The new structure will have secretariats staffed according to population size, with evaluations and rewards based on performance. The goal is to transform secretariats into centers for governance, skill development, and employment.
