Andal Temple sends garland to Madurai's Lord Kallazhagar

A garland from the Andal Temple is en route to Madurai to be presented to Lord Kallazhagar for the Chitirai festival. This tradition marks a significant religious event. The garland, along with toy parrots and silk garments, was transported Saturday after special rituals. Temple officials, including HR&CE representatives, oversaw the procession to Madurai. This custom of sending gifts from Goddess Andal to Lord Kallazhagar has been observed for generations. The items will be used when the deity enters the Vaigai river on Monday.
