Amthane dam gate repairs scheduled for late May

Repairs on the Amthane dam gate are set to begin in the last week of May, once water levels decrease. The gate was found jammed in January, causing a drinking water crisis in Bardez taluka when an alternative supply was needed. An additional gate will be installed to prevent future issues. The current gate repairs cannot start until water levels are low enough, as sudden draining is not possible. Officials previously lacked the necessary drawings for the gates, complicating repair efforts. Navy divers were eventually called in to assist with the situation.
