AMD launches Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor with improved performance and cooling design

AMD has launched the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, succeeding the 7800X3D. It offers an average of 8% higher frame rates, with some games seeing boosts of up to 26%. The new design features 3D V-Cache located below the CPU cores for better cooling. The 9800X3D includes 96MB of L3 cache and 8 Zen 5 cores, supporting 16 threads. It has a base clock speed of 4.7GHz and can boost to 5.2GHz, making it the first X3D processor to be fully unlocked for overclocking. The processor is compatible with AM5 motherboards and will be available globally on November 7 for $480. AMD claims it is 20% faster in games compared to its predecessor, with some titles showing even greater advantages.
