Amazon creates 160,000 festive-season jobs across 400 Indian cities

Amazon India has created over 160,000 temporary jobs across its operations network to handle anticipated customer demand during the upcoming festive season, spanning 400 cities nationwide. The seasonal positions, covering direct and indirect roles, include opportunities for thousands of women and associates with disabilities. New hires will support picking, packing, shipping, and delivery, with most already onboarded and undergoing training for the peak period. Seasonal associates will access the same safety, welfare, and social security benefits as regular staff, including enrollment in government programs via Amazon's Samridhi initiative. The company operates fulfillment centers in 15 states and nearly 2,000 delivery stations.
