Alumni boost college infrastructure via government scheme
Engineers are using the Namakku Naame Thittam scheme to fund infrastructure projects at their former colleges, providing a boost to their alma maters. Alumni engineers are leveraging the scheme to develop infrastructure, with the government matching their contributions. A recent project at Alagappa Chettiar Government College cost Rs. 99 lakh, with alumni contributing over half. This initiative, seen as a way to revitalize the scheme, allows alumni to directly improve their colleges, fostering community involvement and strengthening public infrastructure.
