Alpine A390 GTS test drive: a practical fastback with track-ready performance

Alpine has launched the A390 GTS, a 470-horsepower sport fastback praised for blending everyday practicality with track-ready performance. The model was tested by Tatler near Milan, highlighting its dual personality. The tri-motor car weighs over two tonnes yet remains nimble, achieving 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds. In Normal mode it drives smoothly, while Sport or Track modes sharpen power delivery. It seats five, offers a 532-litre boot, and has a 310-340 mile range. Styled with A110-inspired design cues and an F1-style steering wheel, the A390 GTS starts at £69,390. Tatler concludes it injects fun into a typically dull crossover segment, continuing Alpine’s reputation since its 2017 relaunch.
