Alentejo opens €5.3M fund for historic heritage restoration

The Alentejo 2030 program has opened applications for cultural heritage recovery projects, offering 5.3 million euros in funding, announced Tuesday by the Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR). The call, named "Valorization of Cultural Heritage (ITI)," provides 5,343,436 euros from the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER). Eligible projects include museums and interventions on classified buildings, with municipalities and non-profit entities able to apply in cooperation with local councils. Funding is distributed across five intermunicipal communities, with Alentejo Central receiving the largest share at 3.3 million euros. Applications close in phases, with the first deadline on August 31 and submissions continuing until June 30, 2027.
