Alberta used car prices rose significantly

Used vehicle prices in Alberta rose 4.2% year-over-year in July, reaching an average of $41,126. This increase is attributed to consumers accelerating purchases due to anticipated tariffs on new vehicles, leading to a "pull-forward" effect and strong used market sales. Alberta's preference for larger vehicles contributes to higher average prices, and the used market shortage from pandemic-era supply issues is expected to continue driving prices up until 2027.
