Alberta family launches app to help Canadians find local products

globalnews.ca

A Calgary mother and son, Ryan and Cathy Checora, launched an app called O SCANada on February 3. The app helps Canadians identify whether products are made in Canada by allowing users to search by name or scan barcodes. The app provides information on product origins and suggests Canadian alternatives if a product is not made in Canada. For example, it recommends Canadian brands like Old Dutch when users search for Pringles. Currently available on the Apple App Store, the Checoras plan to expand the app's offerings and are developing an Android version. They aim to create a collaborative platform for users to suggest additional products.
