Leelakrishnan stated Veerendra Kumar fought against fascism, a struggle reflected in his book 'Rama's Grief.' He also highlighted Veerendra Kumar's role in the Plachimada water struggle. The event commemorated the sixth death anniversary of M.P. Veerendra Kumar and also honored high-achieving students.
