Aktau parents angered by school lessons ending after 8 PM

Parents in Aktau are outraged that lessons at some schools end after 8 PM, with the seventh period of the second shift finishing at 20:05. The city's education department has confirmed the schedule. Gauhar Tleu kulova, head of the educational work sector, said the late finish is due to academic load and the timetable. Of 36 public schools, 35 operate in two shifts, and one school runs three shifts. She assured that in the second and third quarters, lesson duration will be cut from 45 to 40 minutes, shortening students' return home. No new third shifts are planned except at School No. 31 due to high enrollment.
